Our last post from China

Today we enjoy a few last minute things at the White Swan and on Shamain Island. Our bags go in the hall at 2pm and then we are off to the US Consolate for our swearing-in ceremony. After that we take a 4 hour bus ride to Hong Kong and then back to America! As soon as we touch down on American soil. Huai Dong Song becomes Elizabeth Mei Song, an american citizen, and her life will forever be changed. We are so excited to get home but it is a little sad to be taking her out of the only place she has ever know as home where she people look like her, where she understands the language and where she recognizes the sights, sounds and smells. We know though that we will do our best to giver her the best possible life, filled with lots of family, friends, love, education, basically everything she will ever need to blossom into the woman that God intended her to be. I must attach my western feelings to her birthmother. I will forever be grateful that she knew that she couldn't take care of her for whatever reason and left her where she would be safe and found quickly ultimately insuring that our baby will have a wonderful life. Also, we are grateful to the People's Repbulic of China who have granted us our wish to be mommy and daddy to our Dong Song, to our empress, to our pumpkin, to our Song Song, to our Elizabeth Mei. We will always love her like crazy cakes!!

Because of the short time in Hong Kong, I doubt we will break out the laptop so our next post will be from Grammy's and Pop's house in Delaware. We will be there for the weekend so if anyone is around we would love to see you. Just ignore our jet lage fog!

Thanks to everyone for your support during this long process. We now have the perfect baby for us and we couldn't be happier!

Love,
Debbie, Sam, and SongSong
