We made it!!!!

We have finally returned to our home!! Poor Elizabeth has been in so many different beds that she doesn't even know this is home. Our flight home was absolutely miserable. Almost 15 hours in the plane and she slept a total of like 20 minutes. I can assure you that when she became miserable so did we and so did the unsuspecting passengers around us. When we arrived at the airport, we were thrilled to see my parents there waiting for us with a welcome home banner. We were most nervous about the car seat but she went in it with no problem much to our shock! Of course she was so tired that she slept the entire 2 hours home from the airport. We spent 2 days at my parents house trying to recover from our own jetlag which was made so much harder because she was having such a hard time. Going over 24 hours without sleep, I admit, makes me a little less patient. Last night she slept for 8 hours so we were thrilled. While we were in Delaware, Elizabeth got to meet her Aunt Janet, Uncle Matt, and cousin Dominique. She also met her Aunt Margaret and Uncle Bob as well as our friend Betty and my parent's neighbors. She did wonderful and we were excited to share our excitement. The car ride to Virginia was uneventful. She was great in the carseat which must be god's blessing to us. When we pulled, our neighbors were outside and greeted us. Jesse and Alicia decorated our mailbox with balloons and made us a wonderful spaghetti dinner. Charlotte came over with a baby doll and slippers for Elizabeth. The cameras are still packed so I will add pictures tomorrow (or whenever we catch our breath!)

Thank you to everyone who has left a comment or took a moment to sign our guestbook. It was wonderful to know that so many people shared our journey to Elizabeth. Your prayers and well wishes were felt.

Much love,
Deb, Sam, and E

Have been thinking about you guys non-stop. Wish your trip back had been a little better, get some sleep and 'someday' you will laugh about it.

WELCOME HOME! I'm sorry the plane ride was so awful, but I think adjusting to the time change fairly quickly and the car seat immediately were great compensation. Can't wait to meet her!

I tried to leave a comment earlier, but it didn't work for some reason. I think I was just too tired to push the right buttons. LOL Just wanted you to know that we enjoyed making the trip with you and Sam. Elizabeth is precious and I am sure that things will only get better. If it makes you feel any better, our first trip home was the same way and look how far DD has come. Glad you are getting a little sleep. We're still struggling to get back on schedule. Keep in touch.
